Empowering Young People with Fewer Opportunities for European Citizenship

  • Youth mobility
  • European citizenship
  • Accessible learning

Experiencing Europe rather than just learning about it: young people with fewer opportunities come together for a youth exchange in Vienna.

What it is about

International exchanges often reach those who already have plenty of opportunities. This project deliberately invites young people who rarely get the chance of a European exchange.

In Vienna, Europe becomes tangible: in conversations with peers, exploring the city together, and with clear, accessible learning materials so that everyone can take part.

Primera's role

Primera organises an international youth mobility programme in Vienna. Young people meet their peers, share experiences and discover their opportunities to help shape Europe. Primera also develops easy-to-understand learning materials on European rights and ways to get involved.

How we use it

In our training, we explore European rights and participation. Teachers and youth educators lead accessible discussions and participatory workshops on rights, civic participation and cultural exchange. They adapt language and activities for young people with fewer opportunities, making room for their questions and experiences.
