CordiKids: Building Empathy Through Coding Activities in Early Childhood Education
- Screen-free coding
- Empathy
- Early childhood
Screen-free coding for three- to six-year-olds – while learning empathy: coding becomes a shared, social experience.
What it is about
Coding with young children usually centres on logic. CordiKids pairs it with empathy: children solve tasks with hands-on materials and simple robots – and think about how others feel and what they need.
Because no screen is needed, even the youngest can join in – as a team, with hands and minds.
Primera's role
Primera supports innovative learning methods for early education. These include playful programming activities that promote logical thinking, cooperation and empathy.
How we use it
In our training, we practise screen-free coding. Educators guide three- to six-year-olds through movement games, sequences of steps and small team challenges. Children practise logical thinking, wait patiently for each other and offer help, making empathy part of solving problems together.
